Before we get started with your new floor, we are happy to visit you for a free quote. In this we include the following properties of the floor: dimensions, color, quality of the underlying floor, possible shortening of doors and the possible presence of underfloor heating.

If there is a flat underlay and the thickness of the tiles to be laid is the same, the tiles are glued to the floor with tile adhesive. Tiles of uneven thickness, tiles on a floor with underfloor heating and tiles with a rough concrete floor as a foundation are laid in a mortar bed.
We pay special attention to the color of the grout and the tile adhesive. These will correspond with the grout to be applied later.
When the floor is laid, it is added after 24 hours. It is important to choose the right color for the minimum 1.5 mm thick joint.
First of all, the grout and glue residues in the joint are removed.
A well-filled joint is important for a marble floor. The best joint result is achieved when the floor is sanded and polished after laying. If the laid tiles are supplied polished, the floor is ready after grouting.

Before the sanding starts, the walls along the marble floor are first provided with a protective construction film at a height of about 1 meter. All irregularities between the tiles are removed by means of sanding.
The sanding is done in 7 or sometimes even several steps. Depending on whether the floor is matte, honed or polished. In the first step, the unevenness is sanded away with a diamond sanding disc. In each grinding round a smaller diamond disc is used, so that the scratches from the previous round become less and less visible. This repeats itself until irregularities are so small that they can only be seen under a microscope. Hard-to-reach corners are sanded with a handy small sander.

The floor can be polished after sanding. Polishing is done with a polishing machine and polishing powder. By polishing the floor is compacted and creates a shiny top layer.

For extra protection, the floor can be impregnated after polishing. This prevents stains. To maintain the shine, it is advisable to have the floor polished annually.

Marble is a soft natural stone, which consists largely of lime. A marble floor will therefore wear out. We see that because the gloss disappears, especially in places where there is a lot of walking. To get the shine back we can sand and polish the floor.
Crystallisation is a treatment that ensures that the shine is maintained longer. This treatment ensures that the lime in the marble floor is more resistant to wear and pollution.
We advise you, when using the floor intensively, to repeat the treatment after about 4 years. Compared to sanding, crystallization is a clean treatment for your floor.
